back from insomania
I highly recommend attending one of these conceptArt.org workshops if you get the chance. It was packed full of great ideas and info. People were drawing and painting all day (well, all night in this case) on 5 different screens simultaneously. Plus constant lecture. In another room, several amazing traditional painters were doing their thing the whole time. I have a notebook of ideas to play with and a fresh charge of inspiration. I didn't draw nearly as much as I had planned. There was just too much else to soak in coming from all sides. A few minutes stolen here or there for some...

oh wow... that color one is really powerful. great contrast with the eyes... such an awesome color in the bronzish head part too.

Favorite toned paper for pastels? Hmmm... For quick projects, I generally use Strathmore, but in the past for commissioned projects I've used Hahnemuhle colored papers or boards, or Wallis Sanded (painful for my fingers and I'd scrape away my finger ridges, but the sanded paper didn't really require fixative and you could really layer the pastels).
You're allowed to saty up late and work when you're drawing things with glowing eyes !!
