Atelier interactive demo

Tried to get the palette in there. The only thing of note is that I'm occasionally spraying the thing with water. This somehow re-hydrates the already dry (but not cured) acrylic. Making it workable again.
I also only used a big flat brush. Even with fast work, there's little reason to go smaller. It makes you think in planes and directionality and helps prevent excessive noodling.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for demoing the Atelier paints. Interesting to watch the rewetting. Would you say they feel like regular acrylics but with a rewet option or are they between acrylics and oils? Still haven't had time to try the open acrylics, sorry.

Thanks!

Murali: Good question. Have to say I enjoy painting more, but find animation to be a huge creative challenge that is hard to give up.

Erik: They feel a bit "soft" like most acrylics when you mix them. Their pigment isn't as strong as oil-white tends to dominate rather than with the same colors in oil. Most importantly, they do share some important qualities of oil - as in they only dry when you want them to. Grab a black (or brown) and white online and experiment! I personaly need to try the Golden "open" series next.

Tiaggo: Sorry! I sent this particular book off without scanning it first! I seem to do that a lot.

Thanks again for the demos. Cool to see the Atelier Interactives in action. I got myself a few tubes, and they're great! It's nice not having to remember to spray my palette down, and it's neat how they stay workable on the surface.
Happy new year man - looking forward to seeing what you've got in store for 2009!
