Another shot: Golden Opens

On the advice of Erik I decided to give Golden Opens another go but without water. I used only a gloss medium I had, only enough water to barely wet the brush to start.
I have to say that it was better - no ugly 2 stage drying that turned me off last time- but still very stiff. I think I need to find a more fluid (and thinner) medium for them. Maybe that would do the trick.

Hi Mark,

The result is very good, glad you liked the process a little better.
I use both the medium and the thinner, the thinner makes the paint even .. thinner (Duh..).

I believe this is my first comment in here (but NOT my first visit, no-sir).

Your drawing, your volume work, the lighting, painting technique... Absolutely marvelous.

Crazy jealous cheers from Mexico!

Wow, I love this guy! Care if I model him? I've been messing around with modeling guys like this in Zbrush lately. www.3dtoons.com It's a lot of fun. Nice traditional works you've done lately. Makes me want to try some.

if you want a more fluid paint, you should really try golden's fluids. They're ridiculously smooth to work with, and have good coverage, despite their viscosity.
